Key Responsibilities of an Early Years Teacher Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment that supports children's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. Plan and deliver age-appropriate learning activities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum or approved early childhood education framework. Develop engaging lessons through play-based learning, storytelling, creative activities, music, movement, and exploration. Observe, assess, and document each child's progress, development, interests, and learning needs. Prepare lesson plans, learning resources, classroom displays, and teaching aids suitable for young children.
Bachelor's degree, NCE, or relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field. Previous experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting. Strong understanding of child development and early years teaching practices. Excellent communication, creativity, patience, and classroom management skills. Ability to design engaging play-based learning activities. Good observation and assessment skills.
