Key Responsibilities : Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons in line with the approved curriculum. Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills effectively. Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials to support student learning. Foster students' communication, critical thinking, and creative writing skills. Assess students through classwork, assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations. Mark students' work promptly and provide constructive feedback to improve performance. Monitor and evaluate students' academic progress, identifying learners who require additional support. Encourage a reading culture by introducing students to a variety of literary texts and reading materials. Prepare students for internal and external examinations through revision classes and exam-focused instruction. Differentiate instruction to accommodate students with varying learning needs and abilities.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in English, English Education, Linguistics, Literature in English, or a related field. Teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE, TRCN certification, or equivalent) is an added advantage. Minimum of 1–3 years of teaching experience in a reputable school (depending on the role). Strong knowledge of the English Language curriculum and modern teaching methodologies. Excellent command of spoken and written English with strong grammar, spelling, and communication skills. Ability to teach reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, comprehension, and literature effectively. Experience in preparing lesson plans, schemes of work, and instructional materials. Strong classroom management and student engagement skills. Ability to assess, monitor, and evaluate students' academic progress effectively. Proficiency in using educational technology and Microsoft Office applications.
