KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide strategic leadership for all academic programmes to ensure high standards of teaching and learning. Develop, implement, and monitor the school's curriculum in line with national and regulatory standards. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate teachers to improve instructional quality and classroom effectiveness. Prepare and oversee academic calendars, timetables, lesson plans, and schemes of work. Monitor students' academic performance and implement strategies to improve learning outcomes. Coordinate internal and external examinations, assessments, and result analysis. Ensure effective curriculum delivery through regular classroom observations and academic audits. Organise professional development programmes, workshops, and training for teaching staff. Review and recommend appropriate teaching methodologies, learning resources, and educational technologies. Monitor compliance with academic policies, standards, and quality assurance requirements. Identify learning gaps and develop intervention programmes for students requiring academic support. Collaborate with school leadership to set and achieve academic goals and performance targets. Maintain accurate academic records and prepare periodic reports for management.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree is an added advantage). Minimum of 5 years' experience in teaching, with at least 2–3 years in an academic leadership role. Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional leadership, and assessment practices. Excellent leadership, coaching, and staff development skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and school management systems. Ability to analyse academic data and implement performance improvement strategies. Strong organisational and time management skills. High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to educational excellence.
